As a cocktail lover always hunting for new flavours and experiences, I was thrilled to kick off the much-anticipated Edinburgh Cocktail Week at the launch party held at The Cocktail Village. The energy was palpable, buzzing with pop-up bars eager to showcase their signature cocktails. If you're a fan of great drinks and good times, get yourself a wristband to the Edinburgh Cocktail Week.
The Venue: The Cocktail Village
Walking into The Cocktail Village, I was immediately welcomed by a vibrant atmosphere. Neon signs, twinkling with fairy lights, created a whimsical space ideal for mingling and sipping on delicious cocktails. Laughter and conversation filled the air, setting the tone for a memorable night.
The transformation of The Cocktail Village was impressive. Cosy seating areas encouraged friendly discussions, while enthusiastic mixologists manned lively bar stations. Every detail added to a welcoming environment, making it clear that this event was a celebration of community and creativity.
Signature Cocktails to Savour
The standout feature of the night was undoubtedly the impressive variety of signature cocktails available. Each stall showcased unique flavours and inventive styles. I ventured to try several drinks, and each one exceeded my expectations!
A personal favourite was a refreshing frozen strawberry daiquiri, served with a smile and a free bucket hat. Another highlight was a tequila-based "Nice" drink that featured a peachy flavour balanced with some citrus notes, accompanied with another hat displaying exactly which list I'll be on this Christmas.
Street Food Scran
The evening was not limited to cocktails; it also featured yummy food options! Street food vendors served up a variety of tasty bites that paired perfectly with the drinks. I indulged in some Korean spicy fries, which were delish.
It's A Get Together
What stood out most during the launch party was the strong sense of community. I connected with fellow cocktail enthusiasts, bloggers, influencers, bar owners, and skilled mixologists who shared their favourite places for cocktails around Edinburgh. The atmosphere felt like a work's night out, with everyone united by their love for great food and drinks. It was lovely to meet others so excited about the cocktail scene, showcasing the vibrant energy of this community.
Reflecting on the Evening
As the night drew to a close, I couldn’t help but reflect on the enchanting experience I'd just had at the Edinburgh Cocktail Week Launch Party. The delightful cocktails, delicious food, engaging conversations, and vibrant atmosphere perfectly kicked off the week (10 days actually) ahead.
Whether you're local or just visiting, Edinburgh Cocktail Week offers an exciting way to explore the city's thriving cocktail culture. I left the event not just with a full heart but also with new friends and a commitment to dive even deeper into the local bar scene.
